Wandering Free!

Perhaps it was the arrival of the school holidays,

The pattern is from "Beyond Neutral"

Or the beautiful Autumn weather,

but a burst of energy has seen me achieve

Preparing for basting

a quilt finish!

And today was the perfect day for a photo shoot!

I have called this "Wandering Free"

for a couple of reasons....

The recipients have lived and travelled in many parts

of Australia...

and the fabric was called "Nomad", which I received

for 'free' from P & B Textiles last year.

This quilt was made almost entirely for free,

as I was able to use a vintage sheet for the backing!

Even the binding seems to 'wander' all about the

edge, front to back!

I quilted it in a simple and subtle grid pattern,

using cotton batting.

The 17th green at Ballan Golf Club!

Happy sewing!

Star Jump Pattern winner....

If I thought I was going slow before,

It seems I have come to a complete stand still!

Although I am consoling myself with this pile of lovelies.....

At least I have been knitting!

And this is going to be ready for our Winter!

I owe you a winner to Jess' "Star Jump" pattern...

#21 was Karen S!

I have contacted Karen

and Jess will have the pattern to you soon!

Happy sewing, I hope!

Sew slow.....

This is the way my sewing has been going recently...

Echidnas don't move too fast!

I made a triangle pouch from a tutorial found at

"A Spoonful of Sugar" blog

I need to tidy up my zipper ends

for the next one!

I also made a couple of 'gender neutral' bibs,

for my sister to gift.

And finally I am making some pretty yo-yos ...

for my next Four-In-Art mini!

There is still time to enter the giveaway for a copy of

Jess' Star Jump pattern, over here.

Like that echidna, I'll have my head down this week,

getting my school work finished before our next

term break!

Then maybe I will "sew fast!"

Happy days!

Star Jump 4, and a giveaway!

I had the great pleasure to recently test a new

pattern for Jess @ Elven Garden!

I'm trying to sew from my stash this year,

so I chose to use solids and spots,

in co-ordinating colours.

I had some Ikea "Numbers" for the backing.

I kept the quilting to a minimum....

utilitarian is what I call it!

I intend it to be used and loved!

I have gifted this to a friend who is having her

4th baby!

Jess calls this pattern "Star Jump"!

And as I was #4 of 4 children,

I named my quilt "Star Jump 4"!

Jess has kindly offered one of these "Star Jump"

patterns to a lucky reader of my blog!

So, you know the routine....

leave a comment and I'll randomly draw a winner

next week!

In the meantime, if you'd like to buy a copy, it's

available here @ payhip!

Happy sewing!

Pacific Lime...

Version one....

Too much green?

Ah, that's better!

Those pesky points are much better

disguised amongst the pretty DS prints!

An advantage of a design floor!

A matching (grubby) ironing board cover!

"Pacific Lime" is now waiting to be quilted....

Happy sewing!
