I've had these ready for a
Sew Together Bag for quite some time.
So I decided to 'bite the bullet'!
I'd had read about the lack of visuals in the pattern,
so found the sew along at The Quilt Barn.

I hand stitched the outer bindings. |
and was happy to get it completed today!
Isn't she pretty?
What colour will I make the next one?
Happy sewing!
SUZ
Beautiful! I love your color choices.(the fabric in the middle of the first picture - can you tell me the name of it? I saw it before and really like it.)
ReplyDeleteThat bag is on my wish list, too. But I need to buy zippers first. :-)
Woah, matching your shoes to your fabric choices (or was it the other way around?) is dedication!
ReplyDeleteThat bag scares me - I would be looking for a sew-along too. Without one I would definitely get something back to front, upside down or inside out. Sigh.
What colour to make the next one? Well, this is cool colours, so why not warm pinks and reds?
ReplyDeleteWhat are you going to keep in all those snazzy pockets?
What a gorgeous little bag! You did a wonderful job on that! I'd love to try to sew one as well, but I'm really scared :-) Your's is perfect!
ReplyDeletebeautiful bag! lovely work with those zippers.
ReplyDeleteIt looks wonderful. Beautiful sewing!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great project! And beautifully done too. Love those different colored zippers!
ReplyDeleteIt looks fabulous! If I come across that pattern.......
ReplyDeleteIt turned out great and i like the colors you chose. But man it looks hard!
ReplyDeleteI love it. Truly love it. Thank you so much for also posting the QAL as I was a little afraid to start one.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! I love these colors and your work is great. What color are you going to make the next one?
ReplyDeleteYou have incorporated so many beautiful fabrics - a great project! Who is the feather print made by?
ReplyDeleteReally love your Sew together bag - I have it on my "to do" list as well:)
ReplyDeletebeautiful fabric choices. I love those feathers especially. Maybe you need a bag for each season :-)
ReplyDeleteIt's fabulous Susan! It's been on my list (for me) for a long time but sewing for others keeps getting pushed to the top!
ReplyDeleteYour sew together bag looks beautiful. I loved that sewe along with the Quilt barn, I don't think I could have made mine without it.
ReplyDeleteNow I have made 3 so far.
Oh Suz! You did a spectacular job! Way to go. Now the next one will be easier! Have fun.
ReplyDeleteYes, I will say that it certainly is pretty! I love your color combos!
ReplyDeleteI agree with all the above comments about the general wonderfulness of your fabric choices and whiz bag constructions skills - and am curious about what you are going to use it for?
ReplyDeleteYou know I love this little bag you made! I can't wait to work on one myself ;) Thanks for the tip on the sew-along. The colors and fabrics you used in this bag are so perfect. I love the way you combine fabrics. And it must not have been too bad since you are thinking of another one...hmmmm....how about some cute Japanese fabrics????
ReplyDeleteVery pretty. Good job!
ReplyDeleteBravo. Looks great
ReplyDeleteIt's fantastic. Want me to take it off your hands *LOL*
ReplyDeleteGreat job! And they are addictive little suckers. I've made a half dozen and keep finding more reasons to make them... I made 2 for the upcoming school year. Hopefully my students will think it's cool that I've made my own pencil case and not think hmmm, that's the mad teacher who quilts everything...! lol.
ReplyDeleteIt's beautiful Suze. Like a virus, these are popping up everywhere to inspire us to make it. I have the pattern, I'm just waiting for some zips to arrive. I couldn't find any 9 inch zips here but I guess you could use a 10 and cut it down. I heard you can't stop at one.
ReplyDeleteIt turned out so fantastic! And I love the colors
ReplyDeleteIt turned out so fantastic! And I love the colors
ReplyDeleteLovely! Beautifully done in such lovely colours.
ReplyDeleteDarling! Darling. Susan. Your colors are yummy. And the next one... just one color? Oh no. You must mix up colors as you did with this one. So glad the extra instructions from Quilt Barn were helpful to you. Wish I'd known about them when I made mine. Perhaps I wouldn't have such a negative impression of this pattern. How do you plan to use your bag? I haven't yet used mine.
ReplyDeleteOk . . . now I have to make one of these bags. You, Cindy, a friend in by guild. I love the purple and aqua color combo too.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Sew Together Bag! I love the purples you used.
ReplyDeleteSo is the Sew Together Bag easy to follow? I’m thinking of ordering the pattern.
ReplyDeleteWhere can I get the pattern please?
