Lately....

I have made some bee blocks.

from the Modern Blocks book!
The first for Nicky, which arrived today!

And this happy house block for Miss Luella

as part of the Mid-Century Modern Bee!

I decided to design my own house....

based on cottages here in Melbourne

which were popularly built in the 1800's...

Finally I have received some fabulous

Rocky Mountain Puzzle blocks...

from (the bottom up) Leanne, Di, Rhonda and Emily
as Queen of June

in the Modern Stitching Bee!

Plenty to keep me busy....

Happy sewing!

  8. I enjoy seeing what you're working on. That first modern block is so darned cool! But then so are your house block and RMP blocks. I need to sew a house block for MCM Bee, but my sewing machine is in for a tune-up... and it's going on three weeks that I've been without it! Need to get it back; then I'll be making a Florida house block. Love your Melbourne house. We saw lots of houses like that when we were in Bendigo for a couple days. Love them!

  17. I like how you have pieced a house based on those in your city - clever.
The fabric in your first block is interesting, quite an optical illusion.

  19. Love the color combination of the dressmaking fabrics you used to construct the house design. I am currently learning to do the modern design for a quilt and I'm having quite a hard time.
