More to your liking......

Seems Kaffe splits the quilting community down the centre......
(You either love him or loathe him!)

Maybe my "Ginger Kisses" is more to your liking?



It is now a 'flimsy'!

I am having a break from this quilt for a while....



I want to hand quilt it, but will wait until I am 

absolutely sure there is no Summer left!


In the meantime, it's back to hand piecing the 

Museum Medallion....

    Your Ginger Kisses quilt is looking absolutely stunning! You have a lot more patience for making tricky things than me - something to work on. You know I love the bright colours of your modern medallion - the drunkard's path blocks are looking fantastic.

    Ginger Kisses is looking gorgeous, good idea to wait till Summer is finally over before quilting, it would be a tad too warm under that. Loving the direction your Museum Medallion is taking, inspiring me to get moving on mine again.

    Hand quilting is so much more enjoyable in the cooler weather. I've not been touching mine on the warmer days of late. I think I'll have to have another hand quilting project to work on through winter as it's such a wonderful way to warm up.

    Ginger kisses is stunning Susan - love your fabrics!

    So want to make one too but it needs to wait till I finish my other quilts!

    Kaffe - I love his patterns and the photos in his books! And some of his fabrics but sometimes struggle to know how to use them.

    You seemed to fly through Ginger Kisses, congratulations on getting it to the flimsy stage!! It's lovely to see your Medallion again, it's a beauty too!!
    I love Kaffe's work. He brought bright colours to quilting. And also the use of modern bright colours with traditional blocks and patterns which so many of us do now.

    I like some of his prints, it's the need to put each and every print together in one quilt, I find a bit balmy!

    I am with Flying Blind. I love some of his prints but could not live with a quilt that didn't have anywhere for the eye to rest.
    I think that is why your quilts work well: lots of brights but with the occasional muted fabric so the brights have something to contrast with.
    My favourite use of Kaffe fabric in a quilt is a Dear Jane. Check out http://greenfairyquilts.blogspot.com.au/2011/03/dear-jane.html.

    you know what I love most about Ginger Kisses? There is no outer circle so that center fabric really gets to sing...no seams! It is fabulous Susan! Love it!

    well, now i see the museum medallion you mentioned. that is lovely. that is more pink that i usually allow myself to use in one item :) those pickle dish blocks are the bees knees!

    Nice work on your Ginger Kisses.

    You've really got some nice fabric combos there, and they all play nicely together.

    At this point, I think I'm headed to Feedly for the Google Reader replacement thing. Tried NewsBar but it wasn't cutting it for me. Now we can't track our reader usage very easily, with everyone coming in from every which way (which was a nice feature of Google's Reader).

    Your Ginger Kisses is way fun! I'll look forward to seeing the whole quilt and how you choose to quilt it. I'm new to hand quilting and I think there are a lot of seams in the quilt and that it might be hard to hand quilt it. (But like I said, I'm new to hand quilting.)
