Little Things....

The 'slow sewing' movement continues to gain

momentum......

Many of you can relate to taking your time over

projects and loving what you do!

So, for now, I only have little things to show....

I really loved finishing off Helen's bag for her....

She did a fine job of the hand quilting!

That's another one I can tick off my 'WIPS' list!

*   *   *

I realised recently, thanks to Clare that I had too

many quilts without labels....

So that has been partially remedied with these.....

(2 down, 7 to go!)

I dug around in my scraps to find matching fabric....

And used a black waterproof marker

 for the important details.

Simple, but effective!

Do you label your quilts?

And if so, how and when do you do it?

I'd love to know!

Slow Sewing.....

I have decided, with three months of the year almost

over and little to show for it,

that this is "The Year of Slow Sewing"......

I have at least finished the second of two bibs.....

The Easter bunny stopped by.....

hand pieced three circle blocks for my

Museum Medallion,

At this rate, it will be at least May before this round is finished!

and am EPPing some little hexies!

My Juki is feeling very neglected!

That's okay, its first term holidays next week, so

there will lots more sewing time!

Yippee!

Now I just need to decide what quilt to make next!

Happy sewing!

More to your liking......

Seems Kaffe splits the quilting community down the centre......
(You either love him or loathe him!)

Maybe my "Ginger Kisses" is more to your liking?

It is now a 'flimsy'!

I am having a break from this quilt for a while....

I want to hand quilt it, but will wait until I am

absolutely sure there is no Summer left!

In the meantime, it's back to hand piecing the

Museum Medallion....

One of these made, 43 more to go!

Back in Formation.....

my geese, that is.....

It's hard to tell from here, but the points are much

better this time round!

I had some gift vouchers that were due to expire so

I was pleased to find this in my local book shop....

I have an on-again, off-again love affair with Kaffe....

I made this quilt nearly five years ago...

his pattern, my fabrics!

Pam's Chelsea Garden
Sorry about the bad 'flick'r' photo! It's the only one I can find!

It hangs proudly on a friend's wall.

I love this new version I found inside...

especially as I have a thing for pink and yellow

at the moment!

This maybe going on to my to-do list!

Is there a pattern out there that you'd consider

making again?

Keeping it Real...

For the Modern Stitching Bee Di has asked for Flying

Geese blocks....

in aqua, yellow, red with grey.

She gave us free reign to choose our own designs!

The first one went without a hitch...

Not so the second...

I think I had a little brain fade when I was cutting....

As I sewed I knew there were serious flaws in it,

 like missing points....

But I kept going, using it as my 'prototype'!

In the meantime I am relaxing with my

 hand applique....

One down, four to go!

Happy sewing!

Goal Setting...

for March!

I am aiming to get my "Ginger Kisses" quilt top

(just the top) finished this month.

I have the background pieces cut....

The arcs need to be appliqued to these.

I want to add a 'piano keys' border,

to either two or four sides....

I have some real Ginger Kisses to sustain me!

I hope I can do it....March is already one week old!

How did that happen?

The Beach....

I spent a very pleasant day or so at the beach this

weekend.....

visiting my sister Helen!

Here she is modelling the dress I made for her

recently....

She is an accomplished seamstress in her own

right....

Look at this fabulous cushion she made from a

vintage tea towel....

purchased from a local op shop for $5!

And, as promised, I took "Almost A Rainbow" for a

visit too....

Helen doing the holding!

and found the perfect place for the photo shoot!

My favourite photo!

I managed to get a bee block completed too...

my first experience with 'low volume' sewing!

I'm off to the beach again tomorrow,

but this time for work-

school camp with 90 twelve year old boys!

Spare a thought for me!
