I thought you'd like to see what has been keeping me
busy in the craft room these last few days.
I finished my socks, started on a recent road trip.
I've begun hand quilting my "La Finestre" quilt,
after machine quilting in the sashings.
And I've made two more "Small World" blocks,
to give a total of four.
I need another nine, I think.
And some partial blocks to fill in the gaps!
I'm contemplating a new name still,
and wondering why the designer
called it "Small World"?
Any thoughts?
Happy sewing!

You've got me stumped re the name 'Small World'. I must say though the blocks you have finished are gorgeous. All those triangles. It is a clever girl, that you are. Loving the gorgeous colours in your socks. Don't they play nicely together?? And, of course, La Finestre is a dream. Enjoy hand quilting her.
ReplyDeletethe blocks look good and I love the socks........might need this now........pretty chilly in my part of the world this weekend.........
ReplyDeleteYou've been keeping busy with a nice mix of machine piecing, hand quilting and knitting. Your La Finestre is just charming, with a nice soft mix of colors. I really admire you for tackling so much hand quilting. Your thread colors are beautiful! I also like the Small World blocks for their bold colors and precision piecing. You're doing a great job with them. I also see you've done a bit of redesigning of your blog! Very nice. I like the bright red print along the sides. It's fun to do a refresh, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteLove the socks & we'll remind Chooky we are further south & it was cold here too. Those blocks are gorgeous & a name that came to mind was "Whirling Star". Look forward to seeing hero shots of La Finestre when finished. Take care & hugs.
ReplyDeleteLovely 'small world' blocks. Do you have a good stash of solids? And, do you plan to use the same background white throughout? Loving the combo of machine & hand quilting with your "La Finestre" quilt.
ReplyDeleteYour socks look so warm Lovely colours. You will need them as it seems to have become very cold. I am still thawing out since coming home.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your hand quilting. And I do admire you for taking on the small blocks.
