Carisbrook Cabin Quilt

It's time for an update on my latest  WIP!

I have all the thirty-six blocks completed just waiting to

be pieced together.

I did think I might stop at sixteen, resulting in a small

baby quilt 36" square.

A blogging friend suggested I make a few more to

bring it up to 36" by 54".

Thanks, Suz!

That gave me the incentive to scramble through my

stash for even more combinations!

I thought these colour combinations would tone down

the overall look!

The last twelve made...

Here are a few of my favourite blocks!

I haven't bought one piece of fabric for this quilt-

what a scrap buster!

I'm off on a little road trip tomorrow so the completion

of this quilt top will have to wait a bit!

I'm taking some knitting though....

The wool is more green than brown.

Happy days!

SUZ

  2. I was so glad to see your post this morning (here in the US)--you hadn't posted for a while, and I was beginning to be concerned. THANKS for continuing your blog when so many are giving up on them! I've read your posts for years, but have never let you know how much I enjoy them (recently retired so a little more time...). You are such an encouragement to me to use fabrics from my stash; I love your scrappy projects, and have saved several photos for inspiration. Ruth in VA

  3. That's going to be a wonderful little quilt. And it is nice to use scraps when you can. Scraps seem to breed prolifically here no matter how many I use.

  10. Really nice, Susan! Your color combinations are so pretty - I like how you've used light colors to contrast with medium colors - and it's absolutely fabulous that you've used scraps! I know what a good feeling that it. I hope your getaway was lots of fun.
