Where have I been?

Now that we are out of lockdown and with that

dreaded illness

virtually eliminated from my beautiful country,

Taken on a recent walk, just 10km from the city of Melbourne!

life is back to covid-normal (masks inside, social

distancing etc) and my days are full!

Finishing up a 42-year teaching career may have had

something to do with it.

Some of the beautiful cards etc I received on my semi-retirement

And spending lots of time with my gorgeous grandsons

is definitely another!

But I have been knitting,

sewing...

a dress for my sister-

the very versatile Eme dress from Stylearc!

Pretty fabric from Spotlight

And a starry quilt top (flimsy) for a friend....

And some planning for these beauties!

I'm thinking something with big and bold blocks!

Just maybe not all of them in the one quilt!

Any suggestions on a pattern???

I'll certainly have more time for all the fun things of life!

Happy days!

  1. Congrats on your retirement. Enjoy & yes it's good to be able to get out more, though I'm still very wary, but maybe we'll bump into each other one day. I'm still looking at those fabrics and thinking. Take care and stay safe.

  2. Glad to hear you are out of lockdown, we seem to be heading back down that road with our numbers fast increasing here in Ontario, Canada.

Welcome to the world of retirement, looks like you have plenty to keep you happily busy.... esp with the grandkids.

  3. Congrats on the retirement! 42 years is a big a legacy of teaching. I wish you the best in all that is to come. Days spent with those cute grands, sewing, and relaxing . . . especially in a Covid free country. I hope we will all be Covid free soon soon soon. Cheers to you Susan.

  5. Look at you! Retired now and already on the go, making and enjoying life. I'm happy for you and Australians to have the Coronavirus pandemic lessening in your country. As you know, such is not the case here. I am sure you are appreciating your new freedoms, and will find yourself hopping from project to project, as us retirees do. I have four WIPs going simultaneously! It's great that your sister is wearing the dresses you make, and I hope she's appreciating your talent for that. Keep having fun!
