I can honestly say I don't remember how long we
have been in lockdown.
But sewing helps me punctuate my days!
I certainly don't have the focus to baste or quilt,
Although I have pieced together
a modified version of my Smorgasbord quilt.
And enjoy evenings EPP'ing my Quattro Colour quilt.
I'm up to the last round, aiming for an October 1st
finish!
I have chosen some smaller projects too...
A new cushion in more subdued colours.
Using up every scrap of these fabrics!
I sorted out my dressmaking fabric stash and
made a Style Arc "Eme" dress.
Happy sewing indeed!

Your works are very nice and love that you can find some lovely sewing projects to work on. It does help to be busy and look at all these lovely quilty things and dress and pillow to show for it. Love them all Suz.
ReplyDeleteYour Quattro Color quilt is simply stunning. I love all the color placement and detail. Stay safe and hopefully you'll be free from quarantine soon.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you've got the motivation to keep making. It's sort of a frenzied kind of creative feeling, isn't it? I think I've been feeling the same way - almost pushed to create so as not to think about the awfulness that's happening in the world. (Now hurricane Laura.) And I understand your lack of desire to baste or quilt. Each of us maker-sorts are finding our way through, and feeling grateful to have such distractions. Your dress looks so cute! I'm in the mood to make dresses too, and have cut out two of them. I read an online article that dresses have been making a comeback during this pandemic. Some sort of need to feel better about ourselves while at home. I don't disagree! Whatever it takes to get through. It's always good to see what you're up to.
ReplyDeleteYour quatro coloured quilt EPP is amazing!! I absolutely love it. It should be in a magazine. Well done!
ReplyDeleteWe've been in some stage of lockdown since March as we were undecided about what we would do for DH's birthday, so something I remember. We won't be doing anything for mine either & I couldn't even help with quilting for you as we can't come to Melbourne metro area & you can't come out. What a shamozzle this is all becoming. The EPP project is amazing!!!! The cushion is lovely & the colours faded, but delicate & you've definitely been busy. I've not made any clothes for years, so well done. Take care, stay safe & huggles.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful projects. Your EPP quilt is stunning!!
ReplyDeleteI think you have been quite busy. The two quilt tops are looking great.
ReplyDeleteThey are so different to each other but both are very appealing.
Lovely cushion, too. Very soft colouring.
And another perfect dress for Summer. That will sneak up quickly.
Wow, lots of goodies to enjoy. I really like seeing all those solids. I wonder if I could pull off something in the collection I have. This must be the first time in years that I have had more than two projects going at once.
ReplyDeleteI need to make some clothes! I'm always inspired by your making, but I seem to have my nose to the quilting grindstone. I should just break free, right? All of this is to say how charming that Eme dress is, with the pull-over style and the cuffed sleeves. Good for you for making this, and the pillow and the two quilts. I like what you've done with the brightly colored quilt--it will be interesting to see how you'll choose to quilt it. And of course, I'm totally in love the Quattro Colour quilt--really so stunning!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you are finding things to keep you sane during lockdown, as being confined is not easy.
