Port Fairy Tales

Mr. PnP have been away for a short break,

down on the Shipwreck Coast in western Victoria,

hence the name "Port Fairy Tales".

I had a great opportunity to finish binding my

Heather Ross/ Sawtooth Mania quilt,

And to get some pretty photos of it!

I had a very willing quilt holder, but this backdrop was

in the shade!

It was only when we returned to our accommodation

that I noticed the log with the ocean in the background!

Finally some close-ups of the quilting...

 straight lines on the machine,

and a little Perle handquilting!

Quilt #6 for 2020
Lifetime quilt #124
47" square
"Sawtooth Mania" pattern by OPQ

I only have two quilts at the "WIPs" stage, but before I

start new one, I have some clothes to make!

Happy sewing!

  1. The quilt is gorgeous, as are your hero shots. Port Fairy!!!! I love it down there & at one time there was a good quilt shop in Warrnambool, but don't know if it is still there. How lucky are you being able to get away. Bit hard for us as we've no facilities in our van & most parks aren't opening their ablution blocks as yet. One day it may get used again. Take care, stay safe & hugs.

  3. What a lovely, comfy looking quilt! Glad you were able to have a little getaway. I'm ready for one myself but don't have a clue where to go during these times.

  4. Such a lovely quilt Susan. Just makes me want to snuggle underneath all those sweet prints. I've always liked the Heather Ross fabrics but haven't used them. A beautiful setting for your photos too. Enjoy your trip.

  7. Hello Suz,
to take pic outside is alway difficult because of the light, but the background is as beautiful as the quilt.
I hope you had a nice trip.
Take care and stay healthy, Doris :o)

  8. So glad you had a nice get-away to another beautiful part of Australia. It's good that you could intentionally take along your quilt for photography, especially since your quilt-holder came along. Your quilt is another pretty finish - that "tree" border print is so good! - and I especially admire the handwork you added to make it extra pretty. Hopefully you're glad to be at home again, and I'm hoping for you that you're not "stuck" there for another round of quarantine!

  10. I am very pleased to see the sunshine in your photos.. Looks like the weather worked well for your week away. And it is a lovely place to visit.
That is a great finish to your quilt. I do like all the different centres to your stars. The perle quilting is a lovely touch. And I really like the way you have used the tree fabric in the border. Love all the different photo locations, too.
