"Prickle"

Did you know that a group of hedgehogs is known as

a Prickle?

Cute, hey?

So it seemed a very appropriate name for my

latest quilt finish.

I quilted some simple vertical and horizontal lines on

my Juki and

then hand quilted, with quilting cotton around each

of the feature squares.

The wool batting gave it a loftier look than I

am used to,

but perfect for a baby all the same.

The colours were not easy to photograph....

It looks much better in the daylight!

  2. I love that this is so gender neutral! Not the easiest to achieve. Is is based on a particular pattern?

  3. An adorable quilt, for sure. It's always impressive to see that you take time to hand quilt, and seem to do it very efficiently. It takes me forever to hand quilt! Those hedgehogs make it perfect for a child... a very lucky child. Love the name - Prickle - and no, I didn't know that's what a hedgehog group is called. It's like sandhill cranes. Did you know that a baby sandhill crane is called a colt? Such interesting facts us quilters gather!

  8. I always enjoy learning about different collective nouns and I had not heard of a prickle of hedgehogs. I think that sounds wonderful.
Great finish on your gorgeous quilt. That design has worked really well for the focus fabric. As always, your photos look great.
