Chuckies in Love

Or should that be "Chucky's in Love"?

Too late now, it's labeled and finished!

I loved everything about making this quilt...

from planning which blocks to include,

to choosing fabrics,

to learning a variety of techniques in each 6" block,

the hand quilting...

even the photo shoot was fun!

Thank you, Elizabeth, who encouraged and joined

me on my Chuck Nohara journey!

That's Elizabeth's block up there on the left!

A shot of the "Lizzy House" backing...

and trying it out for size on Helen's bed!

Final statistics:

Quilt #88
Measures 65" X 73"
Hand/machine pieced and appliqued
Hand quilted with Eleganza #8 perle thread
Quilter's Dream Cotton Batting

Introducing "Amethyst"

I can't remember the last time I

finished a quilt so quickly!

I went for a basic stipple on the body of the quilt...

(I really need to get out of my comfort zone when it

comes to FMQ ing!)

and some straight lines for the borders.

I pieced and quilted it with my favourite Aurifil

thread...

 # 2600 - a lovely light silvery grey which seems to

go with everything!

How lovely that the gardens were planted to match

my quilt!

Here's hoping it is loved too....

Happy sewing!

Winner, winner..

Chicken dinner!

Well, roast lamb perhaps!

I've used my random number generator

to come up with #10

I have emailed Karen!

(A couple of commenters did not have an email linked to their comment.)

On the weekend I made this baby quilt top....

for my hairdresser who is having a little girl in

November.

I started with 5" squares, and 'fudged' some

eight-point stars to fit,

I added a 3.5" border of that cute Lizzie House print,

and a piano keys border of 5" X 1.5" pieces to the

top and bottom.

Now onto the quilting and binding!

Happy sewing!

Be My Neighbor!

I made this block for Debbie for the Gridster Bee for

August.

The pattern came from a free QAL by Moda, called

"Be My Neighbor"

This is the one I made for my own sampler!

using my small stash of kerchief girls fabric.

And a group shot!

And I labelled this one with their corresponding

months.

I wonder what September will hold?

And there is still time to enter my

blog-versary giveaway...

if you'd like to have this pincushion live at your

house!

I'll draw a winner mid-week.

Happy sewing!

Pincushion Parade!

On Instagram, throughout August,

there is a pinnie (pin cushion) parade every day, for

those who want to join in!

(#pinnieparade)

I started by sharing this old favourite...

which had me looking through my photos at others I

have made....

(or been gifted!)

These were all gifts from blogging friends!

that live somewhere else in the world!

And this one lives beside my sewing machine...

and use it most days!

I decided I should make a couple of new ones too!

I found a couple of small cross stitch panels that I

won in a giveaway a l..o..n..g time ago!

They were perfect for this quick little project!

Would you like this one to live at your place?

To celebrate my 7th blog-iversary I'm giving away

this little pincushion....

If you'd like a chance to win it, tell me, in the

comments below, about your favourite pincushion....

Did you make it yourself?

What size is it?

Where does it live?

I'll draw a winner in a week!

Happy sewing!
