This is my fourth finish for the quarter,
first shown here
It's a difficult quilt to photograph...
Maybe because there's not much colour contrast?
I traced around a couple of shapes
(that seemed to do the trick)
with a hera marker,
not wanting to use any 'ink' on the delicate fabric.
Backed with white flannelette and bound with this....
another recently re-homed fabric!
Finished size- 40" square
Happy sewing!

I bet this is soooo soft! I love it!
ReplyDeleteIt looks beautiful-so soft and pretty.
ReplyDeleteSo dreamy! Are you keeping this one?

ReplyDeleteLove your hand quilting, the binding is perfect for this.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful - so delicate! Well done, Suz!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful and delicate. Sorry but I thought it before I saw that Kirsty said it. I love that you hand quilted it.

I love the quilting design, and it looks so cuddly! Gorgeous finish :-)
ReplyDeleteLove that stitching! A very lovely finish.
ReplyDeleteIt turned out perfectly and I know you enjoyed working with the gauze!
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful, and it looks positively "huggable!" After summer brights every here, this soft coloring is so appealing--love it, Susan. Bravo to you.
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful, soft quilt.
ReplyDeleteSubtle is beautiful. Well done.
ReplyDeleteThis is lovely. It looks delicate and soft. Love your quilting.
ReplyDeleteHappy for you to be on track for your quarterly finish along. It's always good to get something done, as we both know. This quilt looks very delicate. I've never made a quilt with these fabrics, but I'm sure you made the right call by not wanting to mark quilting lines on it. Your circles are pretty, and always a winner when perle cotton is used. I'm thinking to hand quilt my entry in the latest Michael Miller Luxe fabric Challenge. Of course, I don't have the right color of perle cotton on hand! Isn't that always the way it goes, even when one "stashes" as I do? Bet this quilt is for your new bub.
ReplyDeleteThe simplicity of this quilt really makes it shine. Love your bubbles for the quilting!
ReplyDeletePerfectly delicate and usable and no doubt a satisfying finish too.
ReplyDeleteIt's beautiful! Congratulations on your finishes, and thank you, on behalf of the 2016 global FAL hosts, for taking part!
