The last of the words from my Spelling Bee buddies
arrived this week.
So I was able to get these out on my design floor
today!
I am going to put some 'picture' blocks in amongst
the words...
My mind wasn't quite focused on things while I was
making this one!
Ah, that's better!
This one features some of my favourite places....
and this is where I got to....
with plans to paper piece a suitcase block
(places we've been),
applique a bike block
(memories made).....
and maybe one or two other blocks?
I'd love to hear if you have any suggestions?
Happy sewing!

Suz this will be a treasured quilt, a wonderful choice for a bee-made quilt.
ReplyDeleteI love how yours spelling bee quilt is coming together.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great project and an interesting swap block project!! I had to look twice to see what was different in the little girl block. Keep us posted as you complete the other blocks.
ReplyDeleteThis is really cool!
ReplyDeleteI love it. What about adding polaroid picture blocks?
ReplyDeleteLooking good! Have fun with the remaining blocks.
ReplyDeleteThis is looking great! The addition of the travel related blocks is a great idea.
ReplyDeleteThis is so beautiful! Love what it says too ♥

Love It! The polaroid idea would be fun and right up your alley too. Maybe more of your favorite things like the favorite places.
ReplyDeleteAwesome Suz!! I love your ideas for adding extra blocks that illustrate the words.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea!
ReplyDeleteMy goodness that's going to be one fabulous quilt!
ReplyDeleteThese words all look terrific, knowing how long you waited for the "lost" word, you got right to the assembling (another thing I like about you!). I'm a bit stalled, but hope to get going as soon I as I get Mary's word out the door. Hard to believe we only have three more months of word-making!
ReplyDeleteThese all look great, and it is all so true. Perhaps a paper pieced koala to represent home.
ReplyDeleteWow, this is going to be wonderful. Love seeing all the words together. I like your idea of adding in the special blocks that mean something to you.
ReplyDeleteThis is wonderful Suz. Glad you got all the words in the end. How about a little paper pieced aeroplane? Or you could always add in some embroidery - a London bus?
ReplyDeleteThis is such a neat saying, and the addition of themed blocks makes it memorable too. The word "way" got me to thinking about signage - curve, straight ahead (arrow), and those signs that point a direction and give distances to major cities, like "10,000 miles to NYC." You're going to end up with a very special quilt. Keep up the great work!
ReplyDeleteI love this, it's going to be fantastic!

ReplyDeleteSorry, got delayed by the semi naked man in the "removed" blog comment above this one. And then I really thought I had already commented... although that might have just been in my head. You can't go past a friendship star.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful idea! I love the words and the blocks are beautiful, I really like how you are putting this together.
ReplyDeleteI am late with suggestions, but what about pets? Without changing the wording, can they be part of a picture associated with memories?
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteAny chance you sell quilts? I came across your blog while looking for a quilt idea for a teacher at our school that is retiring after 26 years of teaching at our school. She is a very beloved teacher so not just an ordinary gift will do. This quilt is beautiful, and would be incredibly sentimental.
