And in an effort to keep it real....
here's the mess I'm making ...
in the process of re-creating
the "My Small World" quilt.
Scraps are perfect because there are some small
pieces used...
this little pinwheel finishes at 2.5", including the
seam allowance.
Rather than using some of the suggested templates,
I am enjoying the challenge of calculating easier
construction methods....
This is the stage I am at....
(Do you have your sunglasses ready?)

What a lovely start. I love this pattern although I am not sure it is really my kind of quilt. It sure is perfect for scraps.
ReplyDeleteYou have been busy, I don't know how many panels there are but it already looks half finished :) I like to work out shortcuts as you have done, especially when machine piecing such small blocks, I think it makes them more accurate. I'm impatient for my copy of Quiltmania to arrive now, so I'm trying to get a few things finished (or closer to finishing) so I will be ready to start playing.
ReplyDeleteWell, I missed the last post, sorry! But I do comment so I know you weren't cranky at me! I find it hard to keep up with it all - often I go a few days not looking at IG and can only go back so far before I start to go crazy. I love blogs though and usually see all posts and comment on a select few. I get pretty annoyed when I leave a nice big comment and the blogger doesn't acknowledge it (I'm not talking about a 'oh that's beautiful' simple comment, I'm talking about meaty ones). It's rude and really, in this day and age of decreasing comments, it's suicide. My comments are down in volume too, but I still reply to them and am very grateful when anyone takes time out of their busy days to leave me a few lines. Makes me smile still after all these years!

Glad to hear you will be continuing Blogging and I think you have encouraged the rest of us to be more active on our own Blogs.

ReplyDeleteThat is such a great quilt, I hadn't heard of it before. See, if you'd stopped blogging I would never have known about it. :) I love how your going really scrappy with your version and I love that green fabric in the second last photo, it's the best shade of green.

You know, when I make a quilt a song comes into my head and I either play it over and over in my head or on my iPod. When I saw yours my song came to me, Quiet City by Aaron Copeland.
