I have finished my "Posy Baby" quilt!

(There's still some hand quilting to be added when I took this photo) |
I did some simple "in the ditch"
machine quilting first,
then finished by hand quilting
with Aurifil wool thread!

How did I miss that stray thread? |
The pattern came from Sherri @
"A Quilting Life" blog,
as part
of her Simply Small Projects!
The finished size is about 31" X 36"
It's great to have my first finish for 2014!
Happy days!

Congratulations on finishing such a fabulous quilt!! Is the aurifil wool thread a similar thickness to perle 8? Posy Baby is a great name!
ReplyDeleteWhat lovely subtle and gentle colours - gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteGreat design and I love how the quilting sets it off.

Great project and Very pretty! You have a fun blog :)
ReplyDeleteThe hand stitching adds such a nice touch. So pretty!
ReplyDeleteThis is such a sweet baby quilt. I love the soft colors! I have done a couple of projects with wool thread and I love it! One small project, I actually threaded my machine with wool thread and used a metallic needle...longer stitches and stitched slow. It turned out great! Great quilt, Susan!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful baby quilt! Those colours are adorable and lovely hand stitching!

ReplyDeleteThis is one of my favorite fabric lines.....especially love the minty green. Lovely, sweet little quilt!
ReplyDeleteI just finished a posy baby quilt too. The fabrics are so perfect for a baby. Yours is lovely.
ReplyDeleteWhat an adorable quilt, Susan! Your fabric/color choices are out-of-the-norm for a baby quilt, so that makes it really refreshing. Love it! I like how you've machine and hand quilted... showing off several of your talents at once! Hope you're finding the sewing time that you want, now that you're back to school.
ReplyDeleteCute and looks like it's fun to make!!
