I may have started a new quilt....
I had the fabric,
thanks to a generous low-volume donation from Cindy...
supplemented with blacks, browns and greys!
(I certainly knew I didn't want another rainbow quilt...
these are my last three quilt finishes.... )
I had the book...
And I had a plan,
and a recipient in mind!
and a recipient in mind!
This is my progress so far....
I'm not making one hundred blocks,
probably 70 or so...
Over at the City Sampler Quilt Along
the schedule is three a week.
I'll be making two!
I am now all caught up...
I used this strip piecing method
to make this one a bit quicker!
So, that's six blocks...
and counting!
and counting!
Your blocks look great. I think I have made 14 and another 10 cut ready to sew when the inspiration hits. I love your fabric choices. hugs
ReplyDeleteWow, that's a lot of different crosses. I've had my eye on that book too so I'll be paying attention to how yours goes. Have fun with it!
ReplyDeleteI toyed with idea of joining the quilt along but didn't in the end . I'll just sit back and watch you instead!
ReplyDeleteYou're off to a great start! The thing about Tula's book that is so refreshing is that it's more of a workbook with plenty of room to make notes. The low volume version you've started is going to be beautiful!
ReplyDeleteWe're all guilty of starting new projects, by accident. hehe Looks great so far!
ReplyDeleteI love your new project! I've been throwing gray into all of my quilts lately, it's such a great neutral. Can't wait to see your blocks come together :)
ReplyDeletethat black and white block with the dots and summeville fabric is perfect
ReplyDelete70 or so!? Might as well be 500!! Good luck!
ReplyDeleteLove your LV blocks!
ReplyDeleteFun blocks! Love the umbrella fabric.
ReplyDeleteYour last three quilts are so beautiful! I love your rainbow style! This new one is looking good too! I'm not sure if you remember I commented a while back about a Posy quilt I was making and I chose the sashing based on what I thought you'd choose. I finally finished the binding a couple day ago. I'll have to send you a pic and see if you approve;)
ReplyDeleteThat is totally not oops - it's going to be fabulous!
ReplyDeleteGood Golly Miss Molly! These look great! I love these blocks...love where this is going. The little umbrella fabric is adorable and I love that block most of all. Not an oops at all!
ReplyDeleteSo glad you decided to be naughty and join in the fun - your blocks are looking lovely.
ReplyDeleteSo it looks like this new quilt just accidentally happened?
ReplyDeleteSounds like a perfect way to start a quilt. The blocks look great.
You have some wonderful low volume fabric pieces there - so much fun and a pleasant change form your rainbow colours. I hope you vision goes to plan.
