"She Loves You"

That is the name of this pretty heart block...

from Jen Kingwell's new book "Quilt Lovely!"

Each block finishes at 7.5"...

and come together easily!

I have been working my way through the rainbow...

with a negative one thrown in for good measure!

For now I am playing with layouts....

but any further additions may have to wait!

Today my sewing room is being given over to a

visitor from France!

Just as well I have some new hand sewing needles...

to try out!

Happy sewing!

Another Finish!

A triangle quilt had been on my 'to-do' list

for quite some time now...

I chose to make mine from Denyse Schmidt's

"Picadilly" fabric range from Spotlight,

complemented by Kona solid in Limelight...

I had great success with spray basting,

using 505 Spray and Fix for the first time-

hardly a pucker in sight!

I used my favourite thread- Aurifil!

No.1231, which I call Pacific Lime of course!

It was a perfect match!

I quilted in a double diagonal line about 1/4"

on either side of the triangles....

giving a diamond pattern all over!

It is not a large quilt-

about 44" by 56"

I think it would make a great picnic quilt...

or maybe just a couch quilt!

Now to decide what to make next....

Happy sewing!

Blocked!

I have been piecing some individual blocks

this week....

Pattern testing this "Star Gazing" block

 for Gemma at Pretty Bobbins!

I think it might become a cushion cover?

These heart blocks are from "Quilt Lovely",

which may become a quilt?

and my bee block, paper pieced, for Stephanie-

our Queen for April in the MCM Bee.

I picked up this bargain at a country op shop

last week...

nearly three metres of backing for $6!

(Just need to buy some matching thread and

I can start quilting the "Pacific Lime" quilt.)

And finally all these buttons sent by Cindy,

as a souvenir of QuiltCon!

Thank you quilty friends, I love these!
Happy sewing!
