A February Finish!

I am pleased to say I have finally finished

 "Almost A Rainbow"!

Finally, because I started hand sewing this in

January 2012....

Oh, look- I have forgotten a round of stitching on the blue spots!

My plan was to make one block a month

and have it done in a year....

but, of course, I got side tracked!

and it took far longer to piece together!

This is not a large quilt (42" X 48"), but does have

about 900 pieces in it!

I have kept the quilting to a minimum for fear of

messing it up completely.....

with a little Perle thrown in for good measure!

I love the backing and the matching green binding!

I had hoped to get some better outside photos but the

weather was far too windy-

I'll get some at the beach this weekend!

Linking up for a February finish to...

A Lovely Year of Finishes!

Happy days!

SUZ

Congratulations on finishing such a wonderful quilt! That size would make a great wall hanging where it could be appreciated and admired for the beautiful quilt that it is.

It looks so good! Great design, wonderful choice of fabrics and the hand quilting is the perfect finishing touch. You've done well to complete it in 14 months.

Love it! Every stitch and all that time was well worth it--you have a gorgeous piece of color and shine. And the perle cotton...the perfect touch!

Great job!

It's perfect Susan and it should have taken time to quilt - saying it took you a year to hand quilt is much better than saying I hand quilted this in a few weeks :-) I love it - you should be very proud.

What an accomplishment, Susan! It is just gorgeous and I am so impressed by your ability and stick-to-it-ness! What color of the rainbow are you missing, by the way?

It's really pretty, Susan! You can be very proud of your accomplishment - hand pieced and hand quilted! Wow. It seems Aussie quilters do that much more frequently than we do here in the US. Good on you!

So wonderful. It gives me inspiration to keep going on mine, although I'm two year in the hand-sewing of it. I love how your turned out and I'm keeping it bookmarked for quilting inspiration, too!

Yay!!!
